About Jenay Fox
When Jenay was 11, she had an opportunity to meet with Kent Rathbun, a renowned restaurant owner and head chef in Dallas, TX. Under the impression he would just be giving her advice for the kitchen, she was shocked to hear he wanted to put the lemon bar recipe they had been perfecting together on the menu at one of his nicest restaurants in Dallas. Not only would he be using the recipe, he asked her to be the one to make them. So, while navigating the chaos of sixth grade, she began her first “job” as a baker, and immediately fell in love.
Her passion for baking only grew from there. After high-school, she studied Baking and Pastry Arts at The Culinary Institute of America in New York. Upon graduation in February 2019, she moved back to her homeland, Dallas, Texas, to work for an amazing pie company by the name of Emporium Pies. Feeling as if the middle of a global pandemic was a perfect time to uproot and move, she, her dog, and her partner moved to Temecula, California where you are now invited to join the story.
Finding a job at a bakery during such uncertain times was nearly impossible. Jenay exhausted almost all of her options when it occurred to her to check with the coffee shop she had already become a “regular” at in the area. Luckily, The Press took her in as a barista, and in no time they were ready to give her a shot at baking for them. You’re here just in time to see how that is going and to join her on her journey as her elementary school dreams become her reality. Now she is baking for The Press, barista on the side, and just starting markets.
